First Profession of Vows

Sr. Isabel’s First Profession of Vows was celebrated with great joy on October 24, 2009 with Msgr. Gregory Parlante officiating. Monsignor had been the pastor of Sr. Isabel’s parish before she entered the monastery and had encouraged her to pursue religious life. He was joined by several priests who concelebrated with him and Br. Larry Hilferty TOR who graciously served the Mass and represented the Franciscan Family. Sr. Isabel’s mother, her aunt and uncle were able to make the trip from the Philippines to join us on this special day.  The many friends who came, brought and  enjoyed a variety of Filipino food at the reception afterwards. We certainly miss seeing the white veil of a novice, but we are very happy for our newly professed sister.

Solemn Profession of Vows

On April 28th, our Sr. Maria Eden Loyola made her Solemn Profession of Vows, with family members from the Philippines and friends gathered from across the country and around the globe.  Monsignor Ramon, the main celebrant, is a friend of Sister from the Philippines who was in the United States for a Spirituality Workshop in Boston.  Fr. Francis Considine, OCD was also able to be here for her.  Father is Msgr. Ramon blessing Sr. Maria Eden’s profession ringan Irish Carmelite who works in Nigeria.  Sister’s brother, Philip and niece, Belle, took many beautiful photos of the day, and another friend, Mario, prepared a wonderful spread of food for this festive occasion!
